and pieces

a homeless woman
whispers
tries to retrieve
shards

hitching a ride
six degrees
a Samaritan

a hotel
heat, shower
TV, clean sheets
she hails
heaven
as
fragments
stick together
long enough
to decide that she is
not used to
fancy rooms
but prefers
to pay six bucks for a
basement spot
